Bridal Gown Designer Turned Blushing Bride =)

We felt funny posing but what the heck, we went for it! I felt very relaxed and calm during the preps. I was able to get a good night’s sleep earlier and I got to eat breakfast and lunch!=) Seriously that’s an achievement for brides! Of course, I made both my wedding gowns, the entire entourage, our moms and some of  ninang’s gowns too. It took an immense amount of painstaking work. To be the designer and bride is challenging, it felt like I did DIY but on a larger scale! It took months and a lot of scrapped out designs that look nothing alike before I finalized my wedding gown. In the end, it’s all worth it!=) I’m happy how our wedding turned out, it seems our guests were happy too.=)

For our first dance, we had our own dance version of “Time of your life.” There was no way we could pull off the lifts in my first wedding gown. So I made this second dress in lace and tulle.=)

My first Camille Garcia shoe 😉

I wanted a unique invite so we had our invite cover door dye cut, our invites were made by our good friends Jun Uy and Yen Uy  of Velprint.

Birdacages are one of the recurring themes during the entire wedding. I designed the invite layouts using Illustrator.

It was really awesome that Mike thought of shooting our rings with spools of coral thread and silver beads.

The beadwork upclose for my first wedding gown, embellished fully with Swarovski Crystals.

I actually saw a loose stone and sewed it up myself 😉

I got Martin into art and paintings, as a wedding gift he surprised me with a painting he had commissioned to one of our favorite local artists, Rovi Salegumba =D

Our happy family!=D The MOH, MOB, Bride and FOB.

My three flower girls, my two nieces, Patricia and Calista, and Martin’s cousin, Maxie, in the middle

Maxie striking a pose, seriously this little girl looooves the camera!!!

Of course I did all my bridesmaids’ dresses.

Each bridesmaid has a different embroidery design at the neckline which I personally designed.

Martin’s sisters wearing Camille Garcia designs of course!

The Ninangs’ wearing Camille Garcia gowns.

Not forgetting the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom. =)

I love my beautiful cascading bouquet by my friend  Badang Rueda, he also styled the Church and the Reception

I never thought I would be the type of bride who would go for a long train but I’m only getting married once so might as well make it ridiculously long!

Planning our wedding I realized I need not look far to look for Suppliers. Most of them are actually our friends doing what they already love to do. The best Macarons EVER by our friend Georgia Chu of Empire Macarons!=) We also had Macarons as our souvenirs. It was such a big hit that there were reports of stolen Macarons! Haha we have a ton of talented friends, our friend Cay Cuasay of Cupcake Lab surprised us with these super adorable cupcake toppers!!!=) Our favorite flavors, Green Tea and Red Velvet. Seriously melts in your mouth!!!

The Glass Garden Events Venue was transformed into a “Secret Garden” executed by one of my very first friends in the wedding industry, Badang Rueda. =) We used one garden venue for cocktails, buffet and desserts while the other venue was used as the main reception area.

Birdcages hanging from the ceiling =)

Instead of seat covers or bows, we had flowers on our chairs.

Details, details, details…

Our emcee friends asked us to do a Crossfit move so I did a push-up! Even my husband was shocked I pulled it off in a wedding gown! It was actually Martin who got me into Crossfit, he bugged me nutty to get into it. When he finally stopped, that’s when I got a membership :))

I like this photo of us, not posey at all! It was captured before the first kiss as husband and wife. We’re both not the PDA type so it was purely a comedic happy moment. At the end of the day, it’s about not the dress, the photos or all the other chaotic details that goes on in planning the wedding. It’s about marrying the person you choose to love and to dive into this new unknown adventure together. Martin and I met briefly in High School (he actually doesn’t remember it but I did because we were about 20 plus girls and they were just 2 guys), we met officially in the summer after my first year in college in Mandarin Class. He said I was his “college crush,” who knows if it’s true but I’d like to believe that it is. It’s peculiar and funny to realize that I met the man I married over 10 years ago.
